About Us

Govinda Kalaskhetra is a Non-Government Organization that works on development of Cultural Awareness among young generation. Since the mechanical world is running too fast nowadays, the present young generation is not aware of aesthetics and the hidden beauties of classical and folk traditions.

To promote Sattriya Nritya, Geet, Badya and Assamese folk tradition through study, practice and research.
To conduct scheduled workshops on Borgeet, Angkia-geet, Angkia-bhauna and Naam-kirtan and preserve these arts forms.
To initiate certain creative art forms on the edifice of Assamese folk traditions.
To uphold rare Sattriya resources, and jeopardized songs (ethnic in nature).
To participate and contribute to all kinds of cultural and social welfare activities.
To enhance the interest of young generation to participate in games, literature and theatre activities.
